Maharashtra cities may face lockdown in the midst of the Covid-19 surge

A warning was given by Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to the people of Mumbai.

Covid-19 cases are still alarming in the financial capital of the country, Mumbai, as corona cases are declining sharply in all states across the country and normal life is slowly but surely taking place.

The Shiv Sena party magazine Saamna said in its editorial that the corona situation in Maharashtra was serious and alarming.

Corona cases are on the rise in all the 14 districts of the state. In the last week since January, 3,000 cases have come to light in a single day across Maharashtra.

The second week of February saw a 14 percent increase in cases compared to the first week.

Mumbai and Pune account for the highest number of cases registered across the state. It is followed by Nagpur, Thane, and Amravati.

Although the corona situation in the state has not yet received a red signal, a yellow warning has been issued.

Dr. Shashank Joshi, a member of the state covid-19 Task Force, commented that if action is not taken now, the alarm bells would not ring long.

On the other hand, CM Thackeray, who conducted a review with the authorities, warned that the lockdown would be resorted to if the lockdown rules were not followed.
