South China Neighbourhood Under Lockdown After The Fresh Outbreak Of The Virus

The new strain of coronavirus is brewing in the city of Guangdong in China. The strain found in south china is identified as the Indian double mutant virus.

A suburb of Guangzhou, southern China, has been closed as officials rush to contain a rush in the area.

In the past week, there are 20 new cases of coronavirus reported in the industrial area north of Hong Kong that has approximately 15 million inhabitants.

The government has imposed tough sanctions on the Guangdong region.

A Guangzhou municipal health office issued a notification on Saturday listing five areas in Liwan District particularly as “high-risk locations” and commanded people to remain indoors until the door-to-door examinations were completed.

Mass tests have been carried out swiftly by the local government and by Wednesday almost 700,000 individuals had been tested.

China has mostly controlled the spread of the virus and, after an uptick in neighboring nations, tightened quarantine measures.

According to the Chinese government minor outbreak in Guangzhou said apparently the virus started spreading from a 75-year-old Indian woman who had been tested positive for it a few days ago.

According to the latest data from the National Health Commission, the total number of confirmed cases in China to date amounts to 91,061 with 4,636 deaths.
