The popularity of cryptocurrency around the world is growing exponentially. Ever since Tesla invested a huge sum in the electronic currency people have been investing in it extensively taking their lead.

But the advantage of dealing with crypto is coming with a bunch of disadvantages too. Some cybercriminals are looking to cash in on the growing popularity of cryptocurrency to buy them with zero expense.

It seems that hackers are committing attacks on cryptocurrency investors. It is noteworthy that most of the victims are iPhone users. Recently, the British cyber security company Sophos warned iPhone users.

Sophos claims that crypto scammers are cracking down on iPhone users with dating apps like Bumble and Tinder. In addition to stealing the cryptocurrencies of iPhone users, Sophos‌ said in its report that they are also collecting the details of those individuals.

Sophos revealed that cryptocurrencies worth Rs 10 crore were stolen by cyber criminals. Crypto scammers are said to be mostly targeting people in Asia.

Sophos said the scammers were expanding their operations from Europe to the US slowly but gradually not wanting to grab attention considering the United States is one of the countries with the highest dating app users.

Sophos suggests that crypto investors use only the certified exchange and trading sites available in the Apple Store to facilitate secure crypto transactions. According to a report, about $ 10.52 billion (approximately Rs. 79,194 crores) worth of cryptocurrency was stolen in April 2020.
