While addressing at the 11th Annual Graduation Ceremony of Ahmedabad University Online Nobel laureate Abhijit Banerjee made key remarks and statements on the Indian economy. About his recent visit to West Bengal, the economist shared some informative facts regarding his visit.

He said that the general public of India are still suffering critically and currently the country’s economy is still below the 2019 pre-covid levels. He mentioned that even the small wishes of people remain unfulfilled.

  During his address to the graduating students, he said that you have to decide for yourself for the decisions you make in your career, and not under any pressure from the family or community. He explained to the students to have the courage to do what they are really passionate about.

 While sharing his experience of his recent visit to West Bengal he mentioned that- “I have spent some time in the countryside in the state of West Bengal. I am amazed at what they say. The rural people are not able to fulfill even the smallest, smallest wishes.”

 Economist Esther Duflow said – “I think we are suffering a lot. The current country’s economy is far below what it was in 2019. We do not know how much it is below, but I can say that it is very low. I do not blame anyone in this regard.”
