Over 200 Rockets Fired At Israel Over The Israel-Palestine Conflict, 40 Killed

The Israeli-Palestinian battle escalated on Wednesday morning. Tension in Jerusalem was evident over the past few weeks creating a hostile atmosphere of war.

Clashes between Israeli troops and Palestinians erupted on Monday regarding the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.

 The Hamas militants in Gaza fired hundreds of rocket-propelled grenades at Israel since sunset on Monday. Two Israeli civilians were killed in the attacks. Another 10 people were injured.

These led to equally mutual attacks. Israel rained bombs on Gaza non-stop from Monday night to Tuesday.

On Wednesday morning the hostilities between Israel-Hamas intensified Israel fired hundreds of rockets to Gaza as the Islamic group and the other Palestinian militants rained multiple rockets on Tel Aviv and Beersheba.

With at least 35 in Gaza and 5 killed in Israel during the longest-running air exchange.

One multi-story building in Gaza collapsed and another was seriously damaged following Israel’s repeated airstrikes.

Israel said its jets attacked a number of intelligence leaders of Hamas on early Wednesday. The military said the rockets were targeted at Hamas offices and Hamas leaders’ houses.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reacted strongly to the Hamas attacks. He warned of an unexpected attack on Hamas.

The defense minister has ordered the evacuation of 5,000 reserve troops to the Gaza border.

Muslim countries on Tuesday strongly condemned Israeli attacks on Palestine. Israel’s action was described as brutal.

It is the largest attack between Israel and Gaza since the 2014 war in Gaza, and it has caused international concern that the situation could escalate out of control.

Tor Wennesland, the Middle East Peace Envoy of the U.N took to Twitter urging “Stop the fire immediately. We’re escalating towards full-scale war. Leaders on all sides have to take the responsibility of de-escalation”

The leader of the militant group, Ismail Haniyeh, said that Israel had “ignited the fire in Jerusalem, and Al-Aqsa and spread the flames into Gaza and therefore Israel is responsible for the consequences”

The White House on Tuesday addressed the issue stating that “Israel had the legal right to defend themselves against rocket attacks” but exerted pressure on Israel over Palestinian treatment stating that Jerusalem must be a place of coexistence.
