IPL Mega Auction 2022: Sunrisers Hyderabad Complete Squad
The mega auction for the IPL 2022 season had started on Feb 12 and lasted for two days (February 12, 13), ended yesterday. The 10 teams that took part in the league had bought enough players from the money in their respective purses and started fighting for the IPL 2022 Mega Fight. SRH won the IPL trophy in 2016 but last IPL 2021 was an unlucky season for them. This time Sunrisers Hyderabad bought players slightly differently compared to the rest of the teams in the auction.
SRH had ₹ 67.9 crores in their purse to buy players and build a team. As compared with the last two years, SRH ownership has given more priority to purchase young cricketers to build the young spirit in the team. The retained players are Kane Williamson for 14 crores, Abdul Samad for 4 crores, and Umran Malik for 4 crores. Kane Williamson has been a backbone in the middle-order batting lineup and tried very hard in the last IPL, Abdul Samad gave an outstanding performance in batting, and Umran Malik gave sensational performance after hitting 150kmph in the last IPL. This year SRH bought 20 players at the Mega Auction for Rs 67.9 crore. Out of 20 players, 8 are overseas players.
