The World Health Organization (WHO) has reported that the mutated covid-19 virus the delta variant has spread to nearly 100 countries all around the world.
WHO has warned that this fast-spreading variant is very dangerous of becoming the deadliest variant so far.
As of June 29, 2021, delta variant cases were reported in 96 countries. In fact, that number would even be higher. Explained that the sequencing capacity required to identify corona variants is limited in most countries.
The number of people getting infected with the delta variant is increasing day by day. Russia is reeking with the coronavirus the government says that 90% of the cases were of the delta variant.

Looking at the Delta prevalence it is clear that it is likely to surpass all other corona variants in the next few months. The WHO said that the current precautions and measures taken for coronavirus control are also being used to variants of concerns (VOCs), including delta.
Increasing the prevalence of alarming variants means maintaining control measures for a longer period of time. Suggested that vaccination should be expedited.
WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated the variant was spreading rapidly at an alarming rate in sluggish countries. The world community as well as others are concerned about this development.
He said some countries had relaxed coronavirus sanctions and blown up control measures, causing dangerous variants to be thrown into the economy.
According to the latest statistics. Alpha variant cases have been reported in 172 countries. The existence of the beta variant‌ has been highlighted in 120 countries. The Gamma variant is available in 72 countries and the Delta variant in 96 countries.
Delta variant is 55% more transmissible than the initially found Alpha variant in the UK and currently, more than 90% of Delta variant cases are in the UK itself.
As the WHO highlighted, the drop in the number of fresh Covid-19 cases in India was behind a dip in the global total, although the global body registered an increase of 12 percent compared to the previous week in the number of cases reported from India.
Many factors contribute, including the emergence and dissemination of highly transmissible SARS-CoV-2 variants, increased social and mobility mixing, uneven and inadequate vaccination, and tremendous stress to boost public health and social measures, the WHO stated.
