Biden signs key Bill targeting China

In a recent development in geopolitics, Us president Joe Biden signed a critical bill on forced labor practices that are reported in China. 

On Thursday, President signed the pivotal bill named Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act that is completely dedicated towards the protection of human rights of the Uyghur community located in China.

 The bill also is aimed towards preventing gruesome atrocities against the Uyghur community in China by various pressure groups. The bill is looked like a direct challenge to Chinese policy on the Uyghur community. 

Immediately after the historic bill was signed, President Joe Biden made some interesting comments regarding the matter on social media platform- Twitter. 

“Today, I signed the bipartisan Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act. The United States will continue to use every tool at our disposal to ensure supply chains are free from the use of forced labor — including from Xinjiang and other parts of China.” Quoted President Joe Biden on Twitter.

As of now, China has been repeatedly accused of human rights abuses and violations. China has also been accused of exploitation and abuse of tens of millions of minorities and marginalized communities in western China.

 However, China has been warned from the very beginning by the united states on the Uyghur forced labor matter. Following this order, the United States has brought the said bill that aims at banning all imports especially from Xinjiang to their country. 

The import ban bill was unanimously approved and accepted by the Senate last Thursday. Following the due process of the clearance of the objections, the law finally came into force and action last Thursday (December 23) with the signature of US President Joe Biden.

As per the sections and provisions of the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act, the United States will henceforth no longer import goods from China except the ones that are being proved to be manufactured without any involvement of forced labor. 

To prove this fact, the US representative and international journalists must be allowed into the Xinjiang province for inspection and introspection.
