Arnold Schwarzenegger reveals his kids hated his job as Governor

Filmmakers, actors turning into politicians is a no-brainer for fans. The Terminator star Arnold Schwarzenegger is no stranger to politics.

Hollywood senior hero Arnold Schwarzenegger said he thought his family would welcome his decision. But, on the contrary, he says that his own children hated him as Governor.

The former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger recently opened his doors about his family’s thoughts of him as governor from 2003 to 2011.

According to Fox News, on Saturday, the 73-year-old actor talked to his eldest daughter Katherine on her Instagram show ‘Before, During and After Baby’ for the 32nd episode – the ‘great Final of Father’s Day week.’

Arnold recognized that his four children were not happy with his transition from the action movie star to the 38th California Governor within the nearly 34-minute interview.

As a result, the Schwarzenegger family had to move to Sacramento from Hollywood, where Arnold served for two terms.

“First and foremost, I believe it is important to explain to everyone how much my kids despised my job. It was one of those crazy things where I just thought, ‘Oh, my kids would be so proud of me now that I’m governor.’ And all the other stuff, but I don’t think you, folks, really connected with it. I guess you were so used to what we were doing when I was on a movie set that you didn’t notice, “Arnold stated.

He said how his kids grew up watching his movies. “They came into the sets with me and made a fuss. It was fun for them. But they did not like being shifted from Hollywood on the pretext of politics.”

Although his children were not pleased about his tenure in office, there was a purpose behind the governor of Arnold. He said in his own words, “Had that focus on state fixation and state improvement. And so that’s why, when there was a recall, I sprinted from one moment to the other.”

They think that I did not develop anything in California. They could not understand it. That’s why my politics seemed disgusting to them. They hated me too, ‘said Arnold‌.

Arnold also praised his ex-wife Maria Shriver, 65, for her support as a devoted mother and political confidant.

The couple was married between 1986 and 2017, raising together four children, namely Katherine, Patrick, Christopher, and Christina.

According to Fox News, Arnold is also Joseph Baena’s father, who was born to the former Hollywood actor housekeeper Mildred Patricia Baena.
