DR. Anthony Fauci, a top US health expert, has commented that the severity of covid-19 in India is alarming.
He appealed to other countries not only to provide medical equipment but also to send medical personnel to India.
DR. Anthony Fauci was pointing out how covid-19 cases in India have doubled to more than 2 crores just in the period of three months with taking over 2.20 lakh lives.
Given the severity of the situation, it is advisable to impose a lockdown in India for a few weeks to curb the spread of infection.

DR. Anthony Fauci, 80, chief medical adviser to President Joe Biden, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases in the United States, spoke about a number of things in an exclusive interview with PTI.
“India is under a lot of pressure with the severity of the covid-19 outbreak. Like the United States, other countries must come forward to help India. In view of the scarcity of medical equipment used in the treatment of covid in India, the nations of the world should provide the necessary equipment. Medical personnel should also be sent”
“At the same time, the Government of India should vaccinate all citizens as soon as possible to curb the spread of the virus. In addition to the two vaccines developed in India, vaccines should be collected and distributed from other countries like the United States, Russia, and Britain, and others. Vaccination may not solve the problem at present. But it can prevent the spread of the disease for a few weeks” said Anthony Fauci.
DR. Anthony Fauci suggested that India should take immediate and long-term measures to contain the coronavirus epidemic.
He urged the Indian government to use all possible means to prevent the spread of the coronavirus and to set up temporary covid-19 centers immediately. And urged to bring troops into the field if necessary. And commented how China did the same last year when the covid outbreak was severe.
